Opening Remarks: March Memoir

I almost feel guilty looking at the weather news for much of the northern part of the United States, especially those on the east coast currently being pounded by a wicked storm, a real Nor’easter!

You see, here in the beautiful “Land of Enchantment”, otherwise known as New Mexico, we’ve been having a very mild winter. It was nearly 70 degrees today! Nevertheless, I know that things can change quickly when it comes to weather. The same can be said for our lives. Things happen. Opportunities come and go. Don’t miss a great opportunity being offered right now by The Memoir Network. It’s called, Write Your First Memoir Draft program and it’s an amazing long-distance learning program that any aspiring memoir writer should at least investigate. It starts March 16th and there is a current discount for early registration (now through March 15 save $25; the price goes up after that, but still a bargain for all that you get).

Denis Ledoux (based in Maine and riding out the Nor’easter) is your main instructor and there are other master mind writers contributing, along with other writers working on their memoirs and sharing their journey. A group brings support; strength in numbers, you know.

I put more information about the WYFMD at the end of this newsletter. Thanks for checking it out and here’s to your story!

Two old friends got together recently. They met up at a favorite restaurant. Even though they hadn’t seen each other in years they had kept in touch through social media. But meeting in the flesh is much more powerful than cyber interaction.

When old friends get together they breathe life into each other’s story. This was so very evident from the animated chatting, laughing and good times. So good that nearby diners couldn’t help getting caught up in their enthusiasm!

These two graying gentlemen used to work together “back in the day”. They spun records on a radio station. They preached the power of music. They pushed the envelope of creativity the best they could.

Years past. Jobs changed. Careers took different directions.

Families grew. Kids, grandkids, and the whole nine yards.

Two old friends – connecting again and breaking bread. And discovering that what we do and who we do it with truly matters.

Two old friends just got a power boost for their lives.
