Opening Remarks: Goodbye 2022

Another calendar year is about to wrap. How was it for you?

2022 was actually a pretty good year for me. Things change, that’s the nature of life. It can be good, bad or in between. “Sometimes chicken, sometimes feathers” as goes one saying.

The important thing is to live your life and live it fully, with zeal, enjoyment, purpose and kindness. My hope for you is that you are discovering how important each day can be. Live your life. Know and tell your story.

Featured Article: WTF

Article by Tom Gilbert

What do you think of when you see the letters W-T-F? Or hear someone say, “WTF?”

Yeah, I know what you are thinking. And I admit to being playful with these three letters to get your attention.

But actually, those three letters, WTF, could represent something quite different than the typical cultural expression. Allow me to suggest a few possibilities.

What’s The Future

I am no Nostradamus, but there are clues. At least when it comes to the way we live, the habits that shape or influence our behaviors, and the “signs of the times.” It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to see that climate change is real. Scientists have been warning us that the weather extremes we have experienced are a result of some human activities.

Are we going to see more of that in the year ahead? Most likely.

What To Fix

If something is broken, maybe we should fix it. Our society is big on disposable stuff. Too often we just buy something new instead of repairing or restoring what we already have. We are a consumer driven society. But sometimes it is worth fixing.

And it doesn’t have to be broken material things. How about we fix our attitudes? More kindness and compassion could help fix many problems, or at least make it easier to bear them.

Wonder That’s Fantastic

I find that awe and wonder are important to appreciating our lives. There truly is a lot of beauty in our world. And the universe is fantastic. The James Webb Space Telescope vividly captured some of that this year.

When To Finish

Do you put off things you should do? I can relate. Sometimes I really need to be prodded to journey away from Procrastination Nation.

People like to make resolutions at the start of a new year. But perhaps it is better to finish up things we have started before making a list of new things to tackle. As much as I dislike deadlines, they can work. Here’s another “WTF” for inspiration: Wait ‘Till Friday.

Who To Friend

We all need someone we can lean on, as the Rolling Stones and others have reminded us. Pick your friends carefully and remember that the way to have friends is to be a friend.

Where’s The Fun

If you are not having fun then may I suggest you try at least smiling more? Happiness is an inside job, but it helps to have external stimulation in the way of fun stuff. Get outside daily, enjoy some nature, laugh and play more, and remember that even in the hard times you can find joy.

I hope you have some more ideas now on how WTF can help you out. Often we just need to change our perspective.

You can read our articles for ideas on how to preserve and share our life story. Remember, everyone has a story to tell!

Featured Resource: Solo Build It!

The focus for you as we end one year and start a new one could be what you are planning on doing with your life. When it comes to work and your passions, building an online business that allows you to tap into your talents and share them with the world can be very rewarding.

Just putting up a website won’t do it. I have found that having all the tools and resources through one platform that really works has been key for my pursuits with life story work.

Solo Build It! is the answer for many entrepreneurs, or solopreneurs as Sitesell, the parent company of Solo Build It! calls it.

Right now there is a special to either buy one and get one free or an extra 6 months on a Solo Build It! package. If you use the help and support you will be amazed how you can create a rewarding, profitable online business.
