Opening Remarks: Summarizing Summer

The summer months are rolling along. Can you believe it is nearly August? Soon another summer will be a memory. What memories are you preserving?

I’ve been quite busy with many projects. I’m not as far along on some of them as I’d like, but I know that steady progress is important. It is good to keep the end goals in mind, but the process is where we get the work done.

The Family Learn Company has revised and updated their memory book product with many new improvements and a new name. In this month’s issue I tell you more about family history publishing using the exciting MemoryPress to create wonderful memory books to commemorate whatever family history you desire, from weddings and graduations to life memoirs and life stories.

Thank you for the opportunity to present another ezine issue to you. Feel free to email me with questions and comments. I welcome the feedback.

Featured Article: Family History Publishing

Writing your stories and preserving them is a worthy goal I am constantly encouraging others to do.

It is something I am engaged in personally, too. I’ve done a tribute book for my daughter after her High School graduation. I am helping my in-laws with a book they will do about their life together (their 50th wedding anniversary is next year). And I am also engaged in helping a couple I know do a wedding tribute book.

The process of any of these projects includes interviewing, discussion, collecting photographs, and writing, revising and ultimately publishing their special stories.

When it comes to family history publishing there are numerous avenues to pursue. My experience is that many people are looking for a way to do that which is affordable and guides them along the process. Working with a personal historian, such as myself, can be integral, but whether you can afford to do that or not, the MemoryPress option (formerly the iMemoryBook) can produce for you a beautifully printed and bound book.

Family Learn is the company that created the MemoryPress memory book product. It is worth considering for a number of good reasons.

1) You build your story with a password protected online site. The site has multiple backups so you can be assured that your work will be preserved and protected.

2) Your project can be ongoing. When you build your story through the MemoryPress site you can continue to edit and update it, even after you’ve published it.

3) The online help and customer service department (via phone and email assistance) is outstanding.

4) There are video tutorials.

5) You can both customize your book and/or use provided templates.

6) The process walks you through how to create your family history. There are examples of others’ work. You can find and use a personal historian to assist you.

7) And it is affordable. You can get started for just $50!

The improvements made to Family Learn’s MemoryPress memory book product are significant. But they aren’t resting on their laurels. They continue to work and improve their product.

I highly encourage you to check out the MemoryPress memory book product. Take a tour here. Read my article on MemoryPress. Write or phone me with questions - here’s my contact information. Perhaps we will collaborate on your special project.

Make a commitment to preserve the stories of your life to share with future generations. And, trust me; the process will also be a journey well worth taking. You will learn much about the story of you and your family and friends.
